Why not use Linux for a more smooth desktop experience on older chips? I have a friend with a old laptop, that once Silverblue was installed, everything was smooth as fuck. On Windows 10, it was so laggy

Loved the Sempron. The pricing was perfect for a struggling college student and the fact that it was AM3 meant at the time I could always upgrade to something better later. Just had to dumpster dive for the rest of the PC.

I have an old Q6600 that easily clocks to 3.2Ghz. It is completely usable as a gaming machine on windows 10 still.

They had two main lines the dual core and quad and up line The chips MADE to be dual core have 1MB L2 core, theyre just set as single core The 512KB ones are MADE to be quad or hex just set as single

I have a single core Intel, It's a Celeron D 356... 3.33 GHz, and I think it can even be overclocked with a different Mobo

I kept all of my Sempron's and phenom's that would unlock stably, I loved to get a chip that would fit for what I needed then see if I could get a better ship out of it for nearly free. Though I never had a 130.

I cant remember clearly but i had a triple core amd cpu in a ASRock n68c-s ucc motherboard and turned it into a 6 core and it worked flawlessly

Awesome video man, and the ds made my day. I only tested one single core cpu in my life and it was a pentium 4 ht that I ended up replacing for a NAS build.

Even for that era this almost feels like a series of embedded/commercial CPUs that weren’t selling well or were in such a late part of their lifecycle that AMD was just trying to clear their stock by selling these for dirt cheap to the consumer market.

The reason why RUclips playback was at 60fps, is because the GPU using the supported codec vp9 instead the cpu. It would be a alot worse performance on this cpu. Also firefox would be perform alot better than microsoft edge. Another issue that i saw on this video, that Windows 10 regonized as "HDD" on a SSD drive, which makes issue for degrating because windows thinks that the SSD is a HDD because of the defragmentaion. Had the same issue on a other amd motherboard. Dont know whats the bios setting for the fix, as intel motherboard doenst have that issue, no matter how old they are... Maybe add Honkai Star Rail on single core cpus as a benchmark game? Im very curious how it performs. If Cities Skylines (Unity Game) starts, this game should start too. I didnt found a benchmark video about this game with a single core cpu.
